Meet The Coaches

Luke Walker

Coach

Luke Walker is currently a teacher and coach in the Maywood School District.  He is the second-year coach of the Hawks middle school boys’ basketball team, where he continued the success of a highly regarded program in his first year.  He has also been a volunteer Varsity assistant in the Lyndhurst High School basketball program and the JV baseball coach at Lyndhurst for the past 3 years. 

Luke is a certified basketball official in New Jersey and officiates both boys and girls at the youth and high school levels.  Luke holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Montclair State University and is currently working on his master’s degree in education.

Ryan Halligan

Coach

Ryan Halligan is an Elementary School Special Education Teacher in the Bronx, New York.  He graduated from Rutgers University (2011) with a degree in Criminal Justice and from Touro College (2017) with a master’s degree in general and special education (Elementary). 

He has been involved with basketball programs from a very young age.  He started refereeing girls’ and boys’ recreation leagues in Lyndhurst and Wyckoff, NJ starting in 2001 and still does to this day.  Ryan has been an assistant coach for Sacred Heart School in Lyndhurst, NJ, Girl’s 3rd & 4th Grade and 7th & 8th Grade (CYO) from November 2011 until March 2012.  Lyndhurst High School Boys Freshman Assistant Coach, Lyndhurst, NJ from November 2012 until March 2013.  As well as Maywood Middle School Boys assistant coach in Maywood, NJ (6th-8th grade) from November 2023 to present day.  

Rick Ingraffia

Coach

Rick Ingraffia is a teacher and coach, currently in his 40th year dedicated to the vocation of education.  He has been coaching basketball for most of those 40 years at various levels, including boys’ high school varsity, JV and freshman, as well as CYO and recreation basketball.  In his career, he has attended and assisted at several basketball summer camps and coached in a summer league setting.  He has developed players in group and individual settings. 

Rick is currently teaching at Seton Hall Preparatory School in West Orange, as a member of the History Department, and is an assistant basketball coach at Lyndhurst High School, his alma mater.  In addition to basketball, he has coached Little League and Babe Ruth baseball and high school volleyball. Rick holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from St. Peter’s University in Jersey City, and a M. Ed. In Educational Leadership from Seton Hall University
